Where We Are
Jenkins Farms is nestled in northern Meriwether County, down a quiet dirt road just an hour south of bustling Atlanta. We may be a little biased, but we believe we’re lucky to call one of the most beautiful farms in the country home.
Why We Do It
Farming is in David’s blood—he’s a fifth-generation farmer whose roots trace back to land held under early treaties with Native American nations. After a career flying Chinook helicopters in the U.S. Army, including multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, David realized he couldn’t shake his connection to the land. He and his wife, Cat, eventually found an old homestead in northern Meriwether County that needed a little love—and they got to work. David inherited the foundation of the farm’s Kiko goat herd from his father and continues to serve his community today as a pilot for an air ambulance company.
Cat also served in the Army, where she met David. Her family has deep farming roots too, though her father famously earned a scholarship so he’d never have to step foot in a chicken house again. Despite that legacy, Cat has embraced life on the farm—planting an orchard, experimenting with heirloom fruits, and cottage industries. When she’s not in the garden or tending animals, Cat runs a busy estate planning law practice.
